Great Job Zack!!!

We are so proud of Zack and we wanted to share the great news of his big accomplishment. We have struggled all year long with spelling. This week while practicing his spelling list we tried something new. I am certainly happy that I had the time to invest in trying new learning methods with Zack because it really paid off. This is his first 100% all school year, so needless to say, it is a pretty big deal. He is so proud of himself. Great job, Zack!

ATTENTION BACKPACKERS!!!!

So......... that quote when I heard it pretty much reminded me of chocolate........and cookie dough!

Happy day! I recieved our backcountry reservation confirmation today and we got ALL the campsites we requested!!!!! YAY!!!! And they will allow additional people at the Summit Lake campsite which was our big concern because they generally only allow 6! I wrote and asked them if they would consider letting us have more for that one night! So no plan B!!

So......dust off your hiking boots, get out the "Vanilla Ice" pants Doug, and hop on those bikes and treadmills, because we only have 135 days!!!! It's going to be an awesome year with a little bit of all the years put together in one 4 day hike!

Love ya all!!!

Five Mile Pass

This weekend we loaded up the bike, the kid and the dogs and headed up to Five Mile Pass, west of Lehi. We spent the afternoon eating munchies by the fire, throwing the ball for the dogs, digging in the dirt and riding the motorbike up the trails.

When we got up t0 the pass it was extremely windy. I wasn't really sure that we would be able to get the fire going so I put Zack in charge of the task. Without a second of hesitation he went to work and shocked us all when he immediately got the fire going with only one match (no gas). I think he was hoping for more of a challenge because he dug a second fire pit and tried to light a second fire using only the magnify glass, without much luck.

The dogs had a blast running around playing ball and eating sagebrush. We have been wondering what kind of camping dogs Jessie and Sofie would be and this weekend we found out. Jessie is apparently terrified of the fire and wont come within 20 feet of it. Sofie can't stand to be left out of the fun. When I took off on the motorbike she chased me for a quarter of a mile before Jason finally caught her.

It was great day for riding. We did however have one bike accident which resulted in a broken front brake. Luckily it was just a big gust of wind that broke it and not me. We are excited for summer. We can't wait to go camping and four wheeling with the family!

DON"T CLICK ON UNKNOWN COMMENTS!!

So, the comment under Denise's post from galmaran is just spam. Apparently, I had the settings for comments open so that anyone could post. I have changed the setting so that you have to login and verify a scrambled code before you can post anything. I think this should prevent anymore spam on our family blog. Let me know if you have any problems with it.

P.S. I quit my job on Tuesday after sending a lengthy resignation letter detailing what a terrible manager I had. I am attempting to find a part-time or flexible full time job. I hope to find a great job that will let me be more available to Zack.

"OTHER THINGS MAY CHANGE US, BUT WE START AND END WITH FAMILY."

Are we awesome or what!? We just wanted to thank everyone again for being there for Ty this weekend. She was so excited to get baptized and that everyone got to be together, as was I. It was a really great day and we appreciate everyone so much.

Love,
Denise

JUST FOR FUN

This crocodile looks like he is smiling, inviting you to come over and pet him on the nose, but in reality he's inviting you over for lunch. In the crocodile world you're the lunch.
What lies beneath? Three hundred feet below this resevoir, the proposed city of Zarahemla rests in peace. Prior to the completion of the dam, BYU Provo archeologists excavated this site before it was flooded and stored their findings at BYU. After they had spent the two years excavating the government of Mexico flooded this area in the Cumadaro Canyon on the Grijalva River. Awesome!!!!!

Tylar's Baptism

I think we have spoken with everyone about Ty's baptism next Saturday but we just wanted to make sure you all have the details! It's at 9:00 a.m. on the 12th at the North Stake Center in Rexburg. The actual address is 314 E. 2 North. Once we know for sure how to get there we will try to post it! We will be having a luncheon at the Plano Church afterward along with all the Ashby's since Ian will be baptised as well! You can probably just follow us to that one! Ty is very excited and counting down the days! We are thankful for all of you and your support on this awesome day!! See ya all soon!
